A mEssage from Bishop Roger Billingsley-Hayes, MDiv
Dear Community Partner and Provider,
Question: If the 340B Drug Pricing Program went away or changed drastically would that affect your current ability to serve your consumers and client base? If your answer is a resounding YES then read on!!
I am excited to share a meaningful opportunity for you and your organization to make a significant impact on rural healthcare by joining the 340B Rural Advocacy Network.
This advocacy network is being established to defend the 340B Drug Pricing Program from the pharmaceutical industry's growing threats. As you know, the 340B Drug Pricing Program enables healthcare providers in rural communities to offer accessible and affordable care. However, this essential program is encountering increasing challenges from the drug industry, which is attempting to weaken its effectiveness through various legislative and regulatory actions.
Our collective goal is to safeguard the integrity of the 340B program by promoting advocacy efforts that prevent harmful reforms, such as restrictions on contract pharmacies, the creation of rebate programs, and denials of 340B pricing. Through our collaboration, we can amplify our voices and strengthen our advocacy strategies to protect this essential resource for rural healthcare providers.
Participation in this grassroots initiative is straightforward and has a significant impact. By lending your organization's name and actively engaging in conversations and advocacy efforts, you will join a united front focused on defending the 340B program. Your contribution is crucial and will make a significant difference. No dues or fees are involved—only an earnest commitment to uphold the program that benefits so many.
Our network will provide robust support, including representation in legislative discussions, the development of unified messaging, and educational efforts aimed at policymakers to emphasize the crucial role of the 340B program in rural health. Together, we can work on legislative proposals that safeguard our interests and prevent any conversions of the program that would threaten accessibility.
Your insight and feedback are invaluable, and we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss how your participation can make a meaningful difference.
We will meet both virtually and in person at our First Advocacy Lunch and Learn on Thursday, May 1st , 2025, from 11:30 to 2:00 PM at The ReNewal Center (Renewal Fellowship UCC), located at 1350 Jonestown Road Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Lunch will be provided from a local FAVORITE food truck for those who attend the in person meeting.
Additional 340B Advocates will also attend as special guests, who will share more information.
Please respond to the email address provided below or call and to receive the virtual invitation link and additional information.
Warmest regards,
Bishop Roger Billingsley-Hayes, MDiv
